Bury St Edmunds Registry Office & The Farmer’s Club Wedding with R & J

What I love about weddings in Bury St Edmunds

I love shooting intimate weddings at the Bury St Edmunds Registry Office because of their big beautiful windows which allows a lot of natural light, even on a cloudy day like we had with Rachael & James’ wedding. We got so lucky that the rain passed right at 12:00 when the ceremony was about to start. What I love most about weddings at the Bury St Edmunds Registry office is how close it is to the Abbey Gardens! This is where we chose to do their family photos & couples portraits

Rachael’s wedding dress was a beautiful 1950’s style off the shoulder dress from David’s bridal and it was absolutely breathtaking!

Her mom also hired a car to transport her from the hotel to the registry office as well as to the venue!

Why Abbey Gardens is perfect for portraits

I love that the Bury St Edmunds registry office is literally right next to the Abbey Gardens. It’s perfect for portraits. From family portraits to couple’s portraits. There are so many amazing options to choose from. Ruins, the Abbey in the background, lush greens, paths, benches, ponds, trees everywhere, arches and pergolas. I know that whatever your style or preference is, we can find a place to take your portraits.

The Farmer’s Club Reception

The farmers Club was a beautiful ornate venue for their reception.

At first glance, it seems a little dark, but with strategic windows this was a really great location for the reception.

The main room has sofas and a cozy fireplace, a balcony to grab a great group photo and to give a speech, lots of extra rooms for your guests to spread out, and a bar.

The room for the reception was spacious and well lit, nicely spaced for the amount of guests and easy to get around to take photos of them as well.

They had family and friends from all over, so it was a great night for chatting and catching up with those loved ones. It was such a beautiful day to celebrate with Rachael and James and their closest friends and family.

Then there is a side room perfect for a first dance and cake cutting!
