As a Suffolk family photographer, my approach is calm and relaxed. There is no expectation to perform or to look a certain way. You don’t need to know what to do with your hands, and you don’t need to feel completely confident before you arrive.

You just get to be with your people.

A relaxed family session is about creating space for real connection, for snuggles, for soft giggles, for the kind of moments that feel small now but will mean everything later. So you can feel comfortable, present, and finally part of every season you are living through.

When was the last time you were IN a photo with your family that isn’t a selfie?

How many photos do you have of your family all together laughing, snuggling, or that you really LOVE?

I was so lucky to have a lot of photos with both of my parents growing up. Since my dad was also a photographer, my mom was always IN the photos with us (and mom would take pictures of us with dad, too!) Also as the youngest of 8, being in so many photos was a miracle in itself!

As a mother myself, when my son was a baby I had a level 10 meltdown because my husband hadn’t taken a single photo of me with him. While I had a camera roll full of sweet moments of the two of them, I only had selfies. Does this sound familiar? So after we talked it over, he offered to go out that weekend and my husband took a whole load of photos of Alfie and me. He has done a lot better since then, but we have also made the effort to always find time and money to book our own family photos each year.

I swore from that point on, that I would help other mothers be IN more photos with their sweet little ones.
And I have also prioritized having my own family portraits taken by a dear friend!

I’ve been there too. After my daughter was born, my body changed so much more the second time, and I found myself holding back from being in the photos again.

What helped me was starting small. Finding something to wear that made me feel like myself again, something I felt comfortable in and a little bit magical, and then just taking that step to book.

For me, it was a dress I found on Vinted, and I felt so incredible in it.

You can do it either way. You might find your outfit first, or you might book your session and figure it out after. I’ll always guide you through it, including helping with what to wear, so you’re never left unsure.

Because the truth is, you won’t regret being in these photos.
